Welcome to Australiana Tours, where we believe that history can be incredibly fun and interesting! Doesn't actually have to be boring. In addition to laughs, we hope to give people an understanding of Sydney's (and Australia’s) past, that helps to connect them with its present, and what it means to be an Australian today.
On our Syndey walking tour, we will take you on a journey back in time, giving you a unique chronological narrative (because our founder is a raging perfectionist) that spans from 200,000 BC to 2,000 AD (don't worry we won't do it one year at a time). As you walk through Sydney’s historic streets, you’ll encounter tales of Australia’s ancient megafauna (wow what the hell is that?!), what life was like for Indigenous people pre-European settlement, the lord of the flies like European settlement operation (sounds dangerous, I'm in), convicts (cheeky characters no doubt), the city’s transformation through the gold rush, the industrial revolution, World War I and the World War II submarine attack on Sydney Harbour (damn, this is too much excitement for one day), and into modern times (no spoilers).
